ማንኛውም ነዋሪነቱ/ቷ በዋሽንግተን ዲ.ሲ. ሜትሮፖሊታን አካባቢ (ማለትም በዲኤምቪ አካባቢ) የሆነ፣ እድሜው/ዋ ከአሥራ
ስምንት (18) አመት በላይ የሆነ/የሆነች፣ በአክባቢው/ዋ ያለውን ሁኔታ፣ጊዜና በዙሪያው/ዋ ያሉትን ሰዎች የመረዳትና አመዛዝኖ
የማሰብና የመወሰን ችሎታ ያለው/ያላት ትውልደ ኢትዮጲያዊ ሁሉ አባል መሆን ይችላሉ።
Who is Eligible?
Any person who is of Ethiopian origin and/or their spouse who lives in Washington D.C.
Metropolitan Area (i.e., the DMV area), and are above the age of eighteen (18) with legal and mental
capacity to make decisions, and is alert, oriented to time, place, and persons surrounding him/her, is
eligible to become a member of the Society.

ለኅብረሰቡም ግልጋሎት በማቅረብ፣ ለማኅበራችንና ለሌሎች የኢትዮጵያ ማህበሰብ አባላት ማህበራዊ፣ ኢኮኖሚያዊና ስነልቦናዊ
ደህንነት ድጋፍ ማድረግ ነው።
Purpose of the Society?
The purpose of the Society is to organize its members with the objective of upholding Ethiopian
tradition and cultural heritage by providing community services that contribute to the social, emotional,
and economic wellbeing of its members and support to other Ethiopian community members in the
spirit of “All for One and One for All”.

የአባላት ግዴታ በማኅበሩ መተዳደሪያ ደንብና በሌሎችም ሰንዶች ሰፍሯል። ከዚህ በታች ዋና ዋናዎቹ እንደሚከተለው ተዘርዝረዋል።
- በአባልነት ቅጽ ላይ የሞሉት መረጃ (ምሣሌ አድራሻ፣ የተወካይ ለውጥ ወዘተ) ላይ ለውጥ ካደረጉ ፣ ለውጡን በሰላሳ (30) ቀናት ውስጥ ማስታወቅ አለቦት።
- ይህንን ለውጥ የማኅበሩ ድረ ገፅ ውስጥ፡ገብተው መለወጥና በትክክል መስፈሩን ማረጋገጥ
- በማህበሩ ስብሰባዎች እና የተለያዩ ፕሮግራሞች/ እንቅስቃሴዎች ውስጥ መሳተፍ።
- ለማኅበሩ ተልዕኮ በንቃት አስተዋፅዖ ማድረግ።
- አባላትን እና ሌሎች በማህበረሰቡ ተለይተው የሚታወቁ የማህበረሰብ አባላትን ለመደገፍ የታለሙ ትምህርታዊ እንቅስቃሴዎች ውስጥ መሳተፍ።
- በመተዳደሪያ ደንቡ እና ፖሊሲና መመሪያው ላይ እንደተመለከተው የአባላትን የስነምግባር ደንብ ማክበር።
What are the obligations of members?
Members’ obligations are laid down in the Society’s Bylaw and Operational Policy Manual. The major ones are listed below
- Member must update changes to membership information within thirty (30) days
- Pay membership dues per the society’s payment schedule as stated in the Bylaws and OPM
- Attend meetings and activities of the Society
- Actively contribute to the Society’s mission
- Participate in educational activities that are aimed to support members and other vulnerable community members identified by Society.
- Comply with the code of conduct of members as stated in the Bylaws and OPM stated in Section 5.
- Nominate and participate in elections

Is it possible for me to appoint a 18 year-old kid as my representative?
Yes, you can, the legal age to be.
የቤት ውስጥ መደበኛ ስልክ ከሌለኝስ? የእጅ ስልኬ ይበቃኛል?
አዎ አንድ ስልክ ቁጥር በቂ ነው። መደበኛ ስልክ የጽሑፍ መልእክት ስለማይቀበል አባላት ሞባይል ስልክ እንዲኖራቸው እናበረታታለን።

What if I don’t have a landline at home? Does my cell phone number suffice?
Yes, one phone number suffices.
Since landline don’t accept text messaging, we encourage members to have cellphone. Currently cellphone is provided freely by the government for elders.

I don’t have anybody in Hebret to serve as a reference?
If you do not know any member from Hebret then leave it blank

What about those of us who aren’t very adept at navigating the site? What options are there for us? Hebret encourages members to seek help from family members and friends.

How many representatives do a member must have?
Members must have primary and secondary representatives
ለምን ሁለት ተወካዮች አስፈለጉ?
ተቀዳሚ ተወካይ በህመም ወይም በሞት ወይም በሌላ ማንኛውም ህጋዊ ሁኔታ መቅረብ ካልቻለ ገንዘቡን ለሁለተኛው ተወካይ ይሰጣል.
Why two representatives required?
If the primary designee is absent during sickness or death or any other legitimate circumstances Hebret will provide the fund to the secondary representative (Vice Versa)
ተወካዮች ከዲሲ ሜሪላንድ ቨርጂነያ አካባቢ ውጭ ሊሆኑ ይችላሉ?
የአባሉ ተወካይ ማን እንደሚሆን የመወሰን ሃላፊነት የአባሉ ነዉ። ከፍያውን ለመቀበል ተወካዩ መገኘት አለበት። ነገር ግን ከመካከላቸው አንዱ በጉዞ፣ በህመም ወይም በማናቸውም ሌሎች አሳማኝ ምክንያቶች የማይገኝ ከሆነ ድርጅቱ ለሌላው ሰው ክፍያውን ይሰጣል።
Can representatives be outside DMV area?
It is the responsibility of the member to determine who will be their representative. The representative must be present to collect the benefits. however, if one of them is unavailable due to trip, sickness, or any other convincing reasons the organization will provide the payment to whomever available

What is the next step after registration?

ወደ ፖርታሉ መግቢያ ጥሪውን ሳልቀበል ፖስወርድ መፍጠር ይቻላል?
አይቻልም። ፓስወርድ መፍጠር የሚቻለው ወደ ፖርታሉ የሚያስገባውን የጥሪ ሊንክ መጀመሪያ ሲጫኑ ብቻ ነው።
Can I create a password without accepting the Portal access invitation?
No, you cannot. You only can create your password after you accept the Portal access invitation.
ፖርታል ወስጥ መግቢያው ሊንክ ካልደረሰኝ ምን ላድርግ?
ወደ ፖርታል መግቢያ ሊንኩን ካላገኙት ወደ አላስፈላጊ ኢሜል ስፓም (SPAM) ወይንም ጃንክ (JUNK) ኢሜል ውስጥ ገብተው ይፈልጉት። ካላገኙት ወደ ኅብረት ኢሜል hebret2021@gmail.com ጥያቀዎን ይላኩ ወይንም በ (703) 455-0236 ይደውሉ እንረዳዎታለን።

ፖርታል ውስጥ ለመግባት አንድ ኢሜል አድራሻ ለሁለት አባሎች መጠቀም ይቻላል? ካልተቻለ ምን ላድርግ?
አይቻልም። ፖርታሉ ውስጥ ለመገባት እያንዳንዱ አባል የራሱ የሆነ ኢሜል አድራሻ እንዲኖረው ግዴታ ነው። ይህ ካልሆነ ፖርታል ውስት የሚገባው ከሁለት አንዱ ብቻ ነው። ስለዝህ ሁለተኛ ኢሜል አድራሻ መፍጠር ወይንም ሌላ ሁለተኛ ኢሜል መጠቀም አለቦት።
Can two family members use one email address to access the Portal? If not, what can I do?
No, you can’t. Each member should have one email address of their own. If not, only one member can access the Portal. In this case, you must create a new password or use another password.
ኖተራይዝድ የተደረገውን የውክልና ደብዳቤ እንዴት መላክ እችላለሁ?

How can I send the notarized Individual Designee Form?
You can mail it to Hebret address 7961 Eastern Avenue Silver Spring Md 20910 thru the post office, but the Hebert management is recommending that members use the online system to avoid delay or mishaps/omissions. The scanned notarized document can be uploaded directly into the member’s portal system https://hebret.org/ or send email to hmas2021@gmail.com

What action will be taken if the notarized letter is not received within the allocated time?
The registrar is not considered as a member and will not qualify for membership and will be cancelled.

አንድ አባል ሙሉ ጥቅም ማግኘት የሚጀምረው መቼ ነው?
አንድ እጩ አባል ማመልከቻ አስገብቶ (ፎርም ሞልቶ) ማመልከቻው ተቀባይነት ካገኘ ከዘጠና (90) ቀናት በኋላ የአባልነት መታወቂያ ይሰጠዋል። አንድ አባል የሚጠበቅበትን መዋጮ በጊዜ ካልከፈለ ማኅበሩ የሚሰጠውን መሉ ጥቅማ ጥቅሞች ማግኘት አይችልም።
When does a member entitled to full benefit?
Once an application has been reviewed and approved and all dues/fees are paid in full, the applicant shall be considered a member and will be issued a membership ID. Only those members whose dues are current will be entitled to all privileges and benefits of the Society.

Yes, Payments in checks, credit cards and debit cards are acceptable.

What is my membership ID number?
New number will be assigned, and a new ID will be issued once you fulfill the membership requirements. Membership fulfilled when application submitted, Notarized Designee letter submitted, and all dues paid.
